Hundreds of workers at Danish brewer Carlsberg have gone on strike after the company banned beer drinking during work hours.

The company has removed beer from fridges offering free drinks but will still allow workers to drink beer at lunchtimes.

Previously Carlsberg had no restrictions on beer drinking as long as employees didn't get drunk on the job.

"There has been free beer, water and soft drinks everywhere," Carlsberg spokesman Jens Bekke told Sky News. "(On Wednesday), beers were removed from all refrigerators. The only place you can get a beer in future is in the canteen, at lunch."

Mr Bekke says 250 warehouse and production workers and truck drivers went on strike on Thursday on the second day of a rebellion against the new rules.

You know you've got it good when you get free beer on the job! I can understand workers fighting the loss of privileges but IMO this is going a little too far!
